Daily Outfit

I love clothes. That's an understatement actually. I'm slightly obsessed...As I'm getting older, I'm getting worse I think. I know there are more important things in life than shoes, bags and girly dresses, but it's my guilty pleasure. I know that no book can be judged by it's cover, and I don't judge other's by their choice of wrapping. To me it's just a very personal choice to dress up every day in a way that makes me feel good about myself. I love feminine, vintage styles. To me, these styles accentuates what femininity is all about. Of late I have gone back to donning skirts and dresses more than trousers, as I've always preferred these. I'm slowly incorporating vintage and retro pieces into my existing wardrobe, mixing old with new. I know that many of you out there have your very own sense of style and preference when it comes to dressing. I also know that some of you couldn't care two hoots whether you've worn the same outfit three days on the trot! And that's OK. Everyone is different. Thank goodness for that!

I'm by no means a big spender when it comes to clothing. This is one area where I truly express my ideas about thrifting, and 'making do and mending'. I would love to share my passion for fashion with you, and will post a 'daily outfit' from time to time. This is just a bit of fun on my part. Love it or loathe it, I don't mind. I'm definitely not a 'vintage purist'. I will wear different styles from different era's, mix them up, make them over, and I'm sure to make mistakes, but that's half the fun! I believe that variety is the spice of life, especially where my wardrobe is concerned! Here goes...

For my first outfit post, I think it only fitting to share with you something that I truly love. A while back hubby spoilt me with a gorgeous dress for my birthday. It is made by 'Call me Betty Vintage'. I'm in love with this dress, as it is so well structured, and the fabric is too cute. It's already had a few outings, and I'm sure it will have many more!

Not long after this lovely little number made it into my wardrobe, did I find another little gem. It was sold as 'vintage' on Ebay, and certainly looked the part. I'm only guessing, but I think it's probably a post mid 1960's dress, judging by the overlocked seams. It certainly has age to it as the tiny shoulder pads are shedding it's stuffing. (I must replace those!) What do you think? Any experts out there who can cast some light as to it's age?

Until next time!
